Choice Reading #2

In honor of Valentines Day, I read an excerpt from the great authorC.S. Lewis'. His literature, such as "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" has been used in schools for years. I read an excerpt is from his book, "Four Loves".

Lewis warns his readers of loving someone or something. He states the devastation could come if one offers his or heart to another. He even goes to the point of saying not to let an animal get to your heart--a hard fact for me because I am a strong cat lover. ;)

Until we die, our heart will remain vulnerable and will have the tendency for desires not pleasing to God. After death, we will be restored and eternally safe under His steadfast love.

Lewis' makes a great point that our greatest love should be the love of God. We need to seek him and our devotion and desire should be towards Him.

  1. This was from John Piper's website? That's great! What did the author say about the excerpt from C.S. Lewis. Was your opinion the same or different from the author? Side note: My parents go to John Piper's church in Minneapolis!
