When we read, we’re always thinking in some way, or we’re not reading!
  • The article says...
    • Too much facebook can cause psychological, physical, social, and academic problems for students.
    • Narcissism could develop.
    • Social networks can become addicting--it was compared to a drug.
    • FB needs to be monitored by parents.
    • People can portray themselves as whomever we want
  • We think...
    • We don't realize how much we can influence other people's perceptions of us.
    • It's a great way to keep in touch with people.
    • For young kids, there's no real purpose other than socialization that is likely to turn for the worse.
    • You could get positive feedback towards negative uploaded things.
    • We can hide things on FB, but we also hide things in real life--we shouldn't blame that on FB.
What acts of literacy do we engage in on FB?
  • Conkshell
  • Newspaper articles
  • What people are reading (Hunger Games)
  • Makes you Internet relevant
  • Poetry/songs
